Patti Smith krijgt sleutel van New York

Op 30 december 2021 wordt Patti Smith 75 jaar. Om dat te vieren heeft uittredende burgemeester van New York 'Bill De Blasio' haar de sleutel van de stad gegeven. 

In de laatste week van zijn ambt, heeft hij ook regisseur Spike Lee en senator Chuck Schumer geëerd. 

“I wish I could give New York City the key to me,” grapte The Godmother Of Punk, “because that’s how I feel about our city. With all its challenges and difficulties, it remains – and I’m quite a traveler – the most diverse city, to me, in the world.”
