Nieuw album Sonic Youth 'In/Out/In'

Sonic Youth brengt op 11 maart 2022 een nieuwe plaat uit. 

Het gaat om een compilatieplaat met daarop rarities die de band heeft opgenomen tussen 2000 en 2010. 

'In/Out/In' zal 5 nummer bevatten, waarvan het nummer 'In/Out' nu al is uitgebracht.

Fans van Sonic Youth kunnen de plaat alvast pre-orderen via hun Bandcamp hier . 

Het eerste nummer op de compilatieplaat heet ‘Basement Contender’. Sonic Youth beschrijft het nummer als: “A super-unfiltered glimpse of the band at Kim and Thurston [Moore]’s Northampton house creating a gentle springboard of Venusian choogle, with phased Lee [Ranaldo] lappings at cascading Thurston figures forming a simmering soundtrack”.

Het nummer 'Machine' werd in 2009 opgenomen tijdens de opnames van hun laatste album ''The Eternal'.

'Social Static' wordt omschreven als: '“draping white sheets of noise over your head then descending into a gauzy maw of car-alarm guitars and ambient-yet-disruptive turbulence that eventually subsides into a smoky coda”.
