Nieuw nummer én nieuw album Metallica: 72 Seasons

Volgens Wikipedia is hetLux aeterna een gregoriaans gezang voor een requiem, een traditionele uitvaartmis volgens de liturgie in de rooms-katholieke kerk. Volgens Metallica is het een retestrak trashmetalnummer!

Na 6 jaar is er ein-de-lijk nieuwe muziek van James Hetfield & co! De track heet "Lux Æterna" en is de eerste single uit '72 Seasons'.

"72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”, aldus Hetfield.

Bij de aankondiging van hun nieuw album, hebben de heren uit Los Angeles ook meteen al hun plannen voor een wereldtour uit de doeken gedaan. Voorlopig passeren ze nog niet langs België, maar wij zijn toch nog een gaatje tijdens Rock Werchter.
